Premio Internacional de Geografía "Vautrin Lud", "El Nobel de Geografía"
Creado en 1991, es el premio más alto que se puede obtener en el campo de la geografía. El premio lleva el nombre del erudito francés Vautrin Lud (Siglo XVI). El premio se otorga cada año en el otoño en el Festival Internacional de Geografía en Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, Francia (la ciudad natal de Vatrin Lud) y decidido por una comite internacional.
The Lauréat Prix International de Géographie Vautrin Lud (Colloquialised as Prix Vautrin Lud or the Vautrin Lud International Geography Prize) established in 1991, it is the highest award that can be gained in the field of geography. The award is modelled on the Nobel Prize it is considered and colloquially called the "Nobel Prize for Geography. The award is named after the 16th Century French scholar Vautrin Lud who is credited with naming the New World America afterAmerigo Vespucci. The award is given in the autumn of each year at the International Geography Festival in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, France (the home town of Vatrin Lud) and decided upon by a five person international.
